As the district has diversity of physical features it has diverse climate.The climate of the district is warm,humid and tropical.The average maximum temperature is 31.2 degree Celcius and the minimum average is 23.6 degrees Celcius.The humidity is very high.It may reach 90 percent during south west monsoon.The district receives an annual rainfall of above 3500 mm.The southwest monsoon begins by the first week of June and fades out by September.The north-east monsoon is during October-November.
LanguagesKasargod is a land of different languages. The languages without script are also used here. Tulu, Kannada, Malayalam, Konkani, Tamil and other local languages are popular.Religions Communal harmony and religious tolerance are the noteworthy characteristics of the people.The Hindus, Muslims,and the Christians, live side by side, each influencing and getting influenced by the culture of the other though they speak different languages
